Fallen Heroes 5k Run / Walk, Bourbonnais, IL

about the 5k

Join us this fall as we honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving our community. The 2014 FH5K honoree is Lieutenant Frank W. Fouts from the Kankakee Fire Department. Come celebrate the life of Lt. Fouts and support a cause that benefits graduating seniors in Kankakee County: The Justin Honeycutt Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The 5K event will feature the life story of a different fallen hero every year. This could include police officers, firefighters, EMT/Paramedics, military service members, or other community leaders such as teachers or mentors. The person featured will be chosen by the Honeycutt family, who will work with the featured hero's family and friends to tell their story.

The course will take you through the village of Bourbonnais and onto the paved trails of the Perry Farm. A Kid's Dash will take place in the park immediately following the conclusion of the run / walk.

course map and location

The road courses for the Fallen Heroes 5K Run & 1.5 mile Fun Walk were chosen for a very specific reason. They begin and end at the Bourbonnais Police Department, where Justin spent his short career as a peace officer. The routes take runners and walkers through the same streets that Justin proudly patrolled for almost two years.
